Hi,

My name is Hans Ratzenburger and I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you to The Ratchet Diet website.

I don’t know about you, but I find that most of the diets that I have tried have been bloody useless.

The biggest problem with any diet is the yo-yo effect.   The dieter loses weight easily in the early stages of the diet, but then life gets in the way, distractions set in and before you know it the weight has slipped back to the starting point or worse.

What the dieter needs is a ratchet mechanism that will prevent the weight slipping back.

That’s why I decided to create my own diet The Ratchet Diet, and to open a  website where I could focus on all aspects of successful dieting.

I am not a doctor so everything that you read on this website is my own personal opinion which it is up to you to take with as many grains of salt as you see fit.   My only qualifications are that I have had to deal with being overweight at different times of my life and that I embarked upon a program of reading hundreds of diet books and listening to thousands of hours of lectures on diet and nutrition, while performing experiments upon myself to see which ones worked and which ones were crap.

As always, when embarking on any change of eating patterns make sure that you see your personal doctor to get a clean bill of health and their approval of your plans to go on a diet.

I will also warn you that I have a fairly warped sense of humour so be warned that although this is a serious subject, there will be some of  the posts that are maybe not meant to be taken 100% seriously.

So friends this is supposed to be a fun site. Just sit back, click on the posts and hopefully have a laugh and maybe even learn something at the same time.

  2. I found this site a few weeks ago and have actually been following some of the advice given. I was sceptical at first, but I seem to actually be losing weight at a very promising rate. If this keeps up I will be back to complement you on the advice, and that is something that I have never done on any other similar health blog.
